Transportation Policy

Policy Owner: Caring Committee 

1. The Caring Committee is responsible for providing the names and phone numbers listed in the Caring Committee Volunteer List as transportation volunteers to members in need of transportation to and from church for services and special events.
2. The committee does not help provide transportation to committee meetings or small group meetings.
3. The committee cannot accept the responsibility of transporting a person who uses a wheelchair and requires lifting assistance when transferring between a car and a wheelchair. This type of assistance requires specialized knowledge and skill to prevent injury to the person requiring assistance as well as to the volunteer. Therefore, committee members will not supply volunteers' names to people requiring such assistance
4. Friends or family members who wish to provide transportation to and from the church,  for individuals requiring special assistance, must do so at their own risk and accept responsibility  for the person’s care and any associated liability.
